강원도 석회암 지대에 드물게 서식을 하는 녀석이다.
학자에 따라 복사나무와 앵도나무의 교잡종으로, 혹은 복사나무와 벚나무의 교잡종으로 추정을 한다
이 녀석 열매는 본 적이 있는데 꽃을 담은 적이 없어서 올해는 꼭 보리라 했었다.
꽃이란 기다려 주지 않으니 그 때 그 때 때를 잘 맞춰야 하는데
공적인 행사가 일찍 끝나는 덕분에 부리나케 달려서 이 녀석을 볼 수가 있었다.
한 주 늦추었더라면 올해도 꽃을 보지 못할 뻔 했다.
꽃받침에 털이 없다.
