상수리나무(참나무과 참나무속) Quercus acutissima Carruth.

옛날 조상들은 상수리나무로부터 꿀밤을 얻기 위하여 민가 가까이 심어서

낮은 산 주변에는 상수리나무가 많다고 한다.

 

알곡이 부족하던 우리 조상들에게는 도토리는 주요 식품원이었던 것이다.

잘 여문 토도리를 빻아서 그 가루를 물에 우려 내어 서서히 끓여서 식힌 묵이란 음식을 만드는데

지금은 특별식이었지만 옛날에는 중요한 주식의 하나였을 것이다.

 

수꽃이 먼저 꽃밥을 터뜨리는 시기라서 암꽃은 아직 보이지 않는다.
