모시풀(쐐기풀과 모시풀속) Boehmeria nivea (L.) Gaudich.

전남 지역으로 내려가면 곳곳에 모시떡을 만들어 판매를 하고 있다.

송편을 만들 때 모싯잎 가루를 함께 넣어서 반죽을 하는데 그 쫄깃한 맛이 아주 일품이다.

모시풀은 이렇게 재배를 하면서 들여온 작물이 야생으로 퍼져서 이제는 남부지역 곳곳에서 흔하게 볼 수가 있다.

 

모시풀은 줄기가 거의 분지하지 않고 줄기에 긴 털이 퍼져 있고 탁엽이 앞자루 양쪽에 마주나고 있다.

섬모시풀은 줄기가 매우 많이 분지하고 목질화하며 줄기에 짧은털이 밀생하고 탁엽의 기부가 합생한 것이 잎자루 안쪽에 붙어 있다.

잎자루와 줄기에는 길다란 퍼진 털이 밀생한다. 섬모시풀은 모시풀보다 짧은털이 있다

 

 

모시풀의 탁엽은 이렇게 잎자루 기부 양쪽에 갈라져 한 쌍을 이룬다

섬모시풀은 잎자루 안쪽에 탁엽 기부가 붙어 있는 모양으로 붙어 있다.
