줄(벼과 줄속) Zizania latifolia (Griseb.) Turcz. ex Stapf

큰 물도랑 주변에 많이 볼 수 있는 녀석이다. 노랗게 꽃밥을 달고 한창 꽃을 피운 모습이 곱다.

진흙 속에서 굵고 짧은 근경과 뻗는 줄기가 옆으로 길게 뻗으면서 번식하여 무리를 이루어 서식한다.

 

 

잎은 길이 50-100cm, 폭 2-3cm로서 납작하고 두꺼우며 곧게 서고 깔깔하며 기부는 점차 가늘어지면서 엽초로 된다.

엽초는 갯솜질로서 두꺼우며 털이 없다.
