눈빛승마는 꽃색이 눈처럼 흰빛이어서 붙은 이름이다. 이가화로 암포기와 수포기가 따로 있다.
비슷한 녀석으로 황새승마가 있는데 2회~3회 3출엽에 소화경이 있고 일가화로 화서에도 털이 있고 꽃색은 다소 누른 빛이 돈다고 한다
황새승마나 눈빛승마나 모두 화서에 털을 가지고 있다.

화서의 짧은털이 많다
잎은 호생하고 엽병이 길며 2-3회 3출복엽이고 소엽은 난형 또는 타원형으로서 가장자리에 결각상의 톱니가 있으며 측열편은 다시 2개로 깊게 갈라지기도 하고 소엽은 엽병이 거의 없으나 끝의 것은 엽병이 있으며 도란형 또는 긴 타원형이고 흔히 3개로 갈라진다.
