냉이(십자화과)

냉이는 채소가 없는 이른 봄 봄나물로 요긴하게 비타민을 공급해 주던 요긴한 자연산 채소였다.

어릴 적 이맘 때 쯤이면 학교 마치고 오자 말자 가방을 내동댕이치고는

보자기 한 장 허리에 꿰차고 호미자루 하나들고서 밭둑을 헤집고 다녔다.

 

대문 밖에만 나가면 지천으로 자라던 냉이가 지금은 그렇게 흔하게 보이지는 않는다.

아마 제초제 탓이 아닌 가 싶다.

 

냉이는 꽃대를 올리기 전에 캐어야 뿌리가 억세지 않아서 국이나 무침으로 먹을 수가 있다.

우리 집 마당에도 여러가지 풀들 사이에 냉이가 마놓이 보인다 꽃다지는 벌써 꽃을 피우고 있다.

오늘 일찍 퇴근하면 마당가의 냉이를 캐서 냉이국을 만들어 봐야겠다.
