서양갯냉이(배추과 서양갯냉이속) Cakile edentula (Bigelow) Hook.

섬이나 해안 지역에는 외래종들이 심심찮게 발견되고 있어서 혹시나 뭐가 없을까 했는데....

비가 뿌리는 동해안 무턱대고 멈추어서 탐사를 하던 해변 모래밭에 이상한 녀석 하나 포착.

사진으로라도 눈에 익지 않은 녀석이라 귀화도감을 살펴봐도 비슷한 녀석이 안 보인다.

 

열매가 아주 특이한 녀석이라....외국 사이트를 뒤지면 쉽게 나올 것 같기는 한데... 

이름을 찾았다. 서양갯냉이 Cakile edentula (Bigelow) 로.  2008년에 국내에 미기록종으로 최초로 보고된 귀화식물이다.

 

열매 꼬투리(협과) 모양이 참 재미가  특징이 있는데 길이 8mm - 2cm이며,

크기가 다른 두 부분으로 구성되는데 아랫 부분은 원통형으로 윗부분보다 작다.

 

열매의 윗부분은 폭 3-9mm로 밑부분보다 크고 통통하며 위에서 아래로 돌출된 능선이 있다.

윗부분 끝에는 납작한 돌기가 있다. 열매는 마르면 코르크질이 된다. 

 

 

 

잎은 불규칙하게 결각이 져 있고 다육성이다.

 

 

 

꽃잎이 흰색으로 전초의 크기에 비하여 매우 빈악하다.

꽃은 연보라색 노란빛이 도는 흰색으로 지름 5mm으로 꽃잎 4장, 수술 6개

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

높이 10cm - 0.8m로 자란하며 줄기는 직립 내지 옆으로 퍼져 덤불 같은 모습을 보인다

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 어긋나며 길이 7.5 - 12.5cm, 잎몸은 피침형 내지 주걱형으로 파상 거치 내지 열편이 있다
