우묵사스레피(차나무과) Eurya emarginata (Thunb.) Makino

서귀포 해안에는 잎 가장자리가 뒤로 말린 작은 잎을 가진 우묵사스레피 나무가 한창 꽃을 피우고 있다.

이 녀석은 암수딴그루로 암그루에는 지난 겨울에 꽃 펴서 달린 열매가 까맣게 익고 있으면서 올해 새 꽃을 피우고 있다.

헌데 이 녀석 꽃향기는 꽃향기가 아니라 퀴퀴한 뒷간 냄새로 그리 호감이 가지 않는다.

 

 

이 녀석이 암꽃으로 세 갈래로 갈라진 암술 머리와 자방이 보인다.

 

 

열매는 장과로 구형이고 지름 7-10mm이며 자흑색이고 10-11월에 성숙한다.

 

수꽃이다. 암술이 없이 수술만 가득하다.
