매자나무(매자나무과) Berberis koreana Palib.

비를 맞으면서 야간 산행으로 한라산에 오르다가 만났던

마악 떠오르는 햇살에 물막 덮힌 섬매발톱나무 꽃이 반짝이던 모습이 다시 생생하게 그려진다.

 

이 녀석이 섬매발톱나무와 함께 심겨져 있길레 그런가 보다 했더니

잎의 톱니가 불규칙 하고 어린 가지가 붉은데다가 잎 가장자리가 약간 뒤로 말린 걸 보니 매자나무였다.

매자나무	6mm 구형 또는 난상 구형	불규칙한 톱니, 뒷면 회녹색	적갈색, 가시 0.5~1cm로 매발톱보다 짧다	다소 느슨하고 화경 2~4cm, 소화경 4~6mm
매발톱나무	1cm 타원형(원주형)	규칙적인 예리한 톱니, 털이 없음	회황색, 가시 1~2cm 세갈래	화서 길이 10cm 소화경 5~10mm  풍성하다

 

 

 

 

 

어린 가지는 붉은색을 띠는데 엽흔 사이에서 잎눈이 생성되기 때문에 마디가 붉게 발달한다

잎 뒷면은 회록색을 띤다

 

어린 열매는 난상 구형이고 잎 뒷면이 회록색이다

 

화경이 길고 화서가 느슨하다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

잎의 톱니는 불규칙하다.
