이른 시각 제주공항에 도착하였다.
지난 해 12월 부터 시작한 페북 활동을 시작 했는데.
아는 꽃동우의 추천으로 들어간 그룹 페북의 회원들과 제주 식물 탐사가 있어서 제주에 미리 내려 간 것이다.
올 해 6월에 몽골에도 같이 가기로 한 처음 만나는 조 교수가 공항으로 마중을 나와서 하루를 함께 다니게 되었다.
처음 만난 그녀는 나보다 몇 살 아래인 매우 유쾌하고 돌진적이 분이셨다.
제주에 집을 마련해 놓고 한 달에 한 번 정도 내려와서 머문다고 하면서도
아직 제주도 식물의 정보가 별로 없어서 내가 안내를 하면서 다녔다.
동쪽 해안을 돌면서 두 번 째 탐사지에서 만난 흰색의 등심붓꽃은 대박이었다.
흰색에 매우 관심이 많은 것을 별로 달갑게 생각하지 않던 나도
처음 만나는 흰색의 등심붓꽃 무리에 이렇게 반가운 반응을 하는 자신이 좀 뜻밖이었지만
아무튼 이 곳에 흰둥이 등심붓꽃을 만날 거라고는 생각지도 못하였다.
이 녀석은 줄기 끝에 원줄기 끝에 달린 2-3cm길이의 포 사이에서 2-5개의 꽃을 피운다.
이튿날 조우한 5명의 회원을 안내하여 갔지만 비바람이 몰아치는 날씨라 흰 것은 고사하고 붉은색의 등심붓꽃도곷을 피우지 않아서 흔적이 없었다.
이 녀석이 등심붓꽃의 품종으로 흰등심붓꽃이란 Sisyrinchium angustifolium f. album J. K. Sim & Y. S. Kim 이름으로 별도 분류가 되어 있다가 등심붓꽃의 이명으로처리가 되었다.
