좀개불알풀(현삼과 개불알풀속) Veronica serpyllifolia L.

제주의 마을 주변 노지나 길거리 풀밭에 퍼져서 자라는 녀석이지만
작아서 좀처럼 눈에 잘 띄지 않는 녀석을 늦은 점심식사를 해결하던 식당 옆 공터를 뒤지다가 만났다.
 
국수 한 그릇으로 늦은 허기를 채우고 달달한 잔치커피 잔을 들고 빈터를 기웃거렸는데
한쪽 구석에 자잘하게 꽃을 피운 한 녀석을 보고 반색을 하였다. 
제주의 시골 주택가를 뒤지다 보면 이렇게 생각지도 않던 녀석도 만나게 된다.
 
유럽 원산의 귀화식물이며 산기슭, 목장 근처 길가, 풀밭 등에서 자라는 여러해살이풀이다.
줄기는 땅 위를 뻗으며, 길이 10~15cm, 가지를 치고, 윗부분은 곧추서며, 마디에서 뿌리를 낸다.
전체에 짧은 털이 있다.
