가시도꼬마리(국화과 도꼬마리속) Xanthium italicum Moretti

도꼬마리속은 전 세계적으로 5종 정도로 작은 속으로 우리나라에는 도꼬마리, 큰도꼬마리, 가시도꼬마리의 3종이 자란다. 가시도꼬마리는 열매를 둘러싸고 있는 총포의 표면에 비늘처럼 생긴 털이 있는 반면,

도꼬마리는 옆으로 퍼지는 털이 있고 큰도꼬마리는 털이 없고 선점이 산재하는 특징으로 구분할 수 있다

 

아직 암꽃 상태로만 봐서 가시도꼬마리인지 큰도꼬마리인지 구분할 수 없는 시기이다.

어린 열매가 있어야 구분이 가능한데........

주변의 키큰 풀 때문에 키가 웃자란 것으로 보이고 잎의 결각이 얌전하여 가시도꼬마리로 정리해 둔다.

 

 

화서 위쪽에 수꽃이 풍성하게 달리고

아래 쪽에 암꽃이 몇 개 보인다

댐 수변에서 만난 녀석은 벌써 열매가 익고 있었다.

 

총포 가시 기부에 비늘처럼 투명질의 가시털이 많다.
