강황(생강과) Curcuma longa L.

울금 꽃과 비슷한 흰꽃을 피웠다.

 

강황은 생강과 농작물로 오래 전부터 남아시아에서는 강황 분말은 음식의 맛을 더해주는 향신료로 많이 이용해 왔다

우리나라에서도 남부지역에서 많이 재배를 한다.

 

한 때 강황가루를 넣은 밥을 제공하는 식당이 인기를 끌었을 정도로 강황의 효능이 대두가 되었더랬는데

강황 분말은 체질 개선에 도움을 주는 여러가지 효능으로 우리나라에서도 카레의 원료나, 건강강식품으로 인기가 있다.
