갓 :  위쪽에서 가지를 치며, 털이 없다. 재배종이 야생화 하여 자라기도 한다. 들갓보다 일찍 개화한다

들갓 : 위쪽에서 가지가 갈라지며 전체에 거센 털이 있다. 갓과 비교하여 열매껍질에 3~5맥이 뚜렷한 점이 다르다

털들갓 : 열매에 털이 있다. 들갓의 변종으로 함께 혼생한다

열매	열매의 껍질에 맥이 뚜렷하지 않음  잔존하는 암술대는 원통형이며 열매 길이의 1/4-1/5	2-4㎝, 지름 2-3㎜, 열매껍질에 3~5개의 뚜렷한 맥 있음.  잔존 암술대는 납작, 열매 길이의 1/2-1/3로	길이 2~4cm, 지름 2~3mm. 열매껍질에 3~5개 융기된 맥. 열매에 거친 털이 있다. 잔존 암술대 납작함
종자	지름 2㎜로 갈색이다	지름 1-1.5㎜, 7-16개의 종자	지름 1~1.6mm, 적갈색 또는 흑색
전초의 털	줄기에 털이 없다.	줄기에 아래를 향한 거센털이 있다	줄기에 아래를 향한 거센털이 있다
