대청(배추과 대청속) Isatis tinctoria L.

한 번은 보고싶었는데 용케도 정보를 접하게 되었다.

북부지방의 바닷가에 자라는 두해살이풀로 아시아와 유럽 각지에서 약용으로 재배한다. 

줄기는 위쪽에서 가지가 갈라지고 전체에 털이 없다. 줄기 아래쪽 잎은 피침형이고 잎자루가 짧으며 가장자리는 뚜렷하지 않는 톱니 모양이다. 줄기 위쪽 잎은 밑부분이 귀 모양으로 되어 줄기를 감싸고 가장자리는 밋밋하거나 잔 톱니가 있다 꽃은 5~6월에 노란색으로 피며, 줄기 끝에서 총상꽃차례를 이룬다. 열매는 검은색이나 어두운 갈색으로 익으며, 저절로 터지지 않는다. 뿌리와 잎을 남색 염료로 사용한다

 

 

4개의 꽃받침도 노란색을 띠어서 마치 꽃잎이 8개인 것 처럼 보인다
