우리는 이 녀석을 여태 큰개미자리로 불러왔다.
2014년 한국의 석죽과 식물의 생리생태학적 특성 및 분류학적 고찰을 한 박사학위 논문을 살펴 보면
큰개미자리와 개미자리는 형태적으로 유사하고 개미자리의 종자 표면에 원주상 돌기가 많이 있다고 한다.
아래 녀석은 해안 부두 근처에서 만났던 개미자리속 분류군이다.
꽃잎 끝이 둥글고 종자를 확인하니 원주형의 돌기가 있었다
그러면 이 녀석은 개미자리인 것이다. 헌데 여태 큰개미자리로 불러오던 종이 개미자리라는 데서 혼란이 온다
큰개미자리의 종자는 돌기가 희미한 입상돌기거나 없다고 하니
종자를 확인하기 전까지는 개자리인지 큰개자리인지 확인이 힘들게 생겼다.
아래 내용은 박사학위 논문 중 일부를 정리한 것인데,
해안에서 종자 돌기를 확인한 결과 자생지에 대한 기록과 꽃잎의 형태에 대한 특징이 상충되는 문제가 있다.
올해는 개미자리 녀석들의 종자 확인을 해 봐야겠다.

종자 확인을 위하여 채집해 온 것을 뒤늦게 촬영하였는데 표면에 원주형 돌기가 빽빽하기 나 있었다.
