섬개회나무(물푸레나무과 수수꽃다리속) Syringa patula (Palib.) Nakai var. venosa (Nakai) M.Kim

밤새 내린 비로 아직 물기를 채 말리지 않은 모습으로 이른 아침에 방문한 육지 아짐을 맞이한다.

그래도 비가 그쳐주어서 얼마나 다행한지 모르겠다.

 

울릉도라서 <섬>이란 접두어를 달고는 있다.

꽃은 개회나무처럼 전년지에 달리는데 개회나무에 비하여는 화관 열편이 화관 통부보다 더 짧고 꽃밥이 밖으로 나오지 않았다.

개회나무보다는 정향나무쪽에 더 가까워 보이는데 잎맥이 깊게 패여 있다.

정향나무는 화서에 털이 있거나 없고 , 털개회나무는 얼ㄴ가지 엽병, 잎 뒷면에 잔털이 밀생하는데

섬개회나무는 화서에 털이 없고, 잎 뒷면 주맥 위에 더러 털이 있다고 한다.

화서의 털은 확인해보지 못하였다

 

 

 

잎은 넓은 난형 또는 아원형으로 표면의 엽맥이 패여 있다.

뒷면은 털이 없거나 주맥 기부에 털이 있고 엽맥이 튀어 나오고 엽병에 털이 없거나 간혹 있다.
