오구나무(대극과 오구나무속) 열매 Triadica sebifera (L.) Small

제주도나 전남 남부 지역에 드물게 심겨져 있는 중국원산으로

꽃 모양이 사람주나무랑 거의 흡사한 모양인데 아직 꽃을 본 적이 없다.

 

 

 

삭과는 구상 타원형이며 첨두이고 길이 1cm정도로서 9-11월에 흑색으로 익으며

 

 

 

3개의 종자가 들어 있고 종자는 납질로 덮여 있으며 백색이고 길이가 7㎜이며 독이 있다.

예전에 종자를 양초와 비누의 원료로 이용하였다고 한다

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

유목의 수피는 짙은 녹색을 띠고 밋밋하지만 성목이 되면 세로로 갈라서 터진다
