큰조롱(협죽도과 백미꽃속)

흔하지 않는 녀석을 생각지도 않게 만났을 때의 기쁨이란...

이 녀석은 그래도 덩굴은 꽤 자주 만났던 것 같은데 꽃은 두어 번 정도 밖에 만나지 못하였다.

 

큰조롱 뿌리를 백하수오라 하여 한약재로 귀하게 쓰인다고 약초꾼들의 눈에 띄면 금방 사라져 버린다.

약초로 재배하는 하수오는 적하수오라 하는데 뿌리가 붉어서 그리 부른다. 서해 일부도서에는 적하수오가 자생을 한다고 한다.
