여태껏 만나지 못하던 가지괭이눈을 올 봄 우연하게 예천의 백두대간 에서 확인을 하였었디.
처음 만나는 이상한 녀석의 정체를 몰라서 요란 법석을 떨고서야 가지괭이눈 어린 녀석의 모습이란 걸 알게 되었다.
지난 주 이 곳 천상의 화원에서도 노랗게 핀 선괭이눈에 시선을 빼앗겨서 함께 어울려 살고 있는 가지괭이눈을 모르고 지나칠 뻔 했었다.
꽃동무도 긴가 민가하여 가리키는 녀석이 예천의 백두대간에서 만났던 그 이상했던 녀석, 바로 가지괭이눈이었던 거였다.
가지괭이눈은 5월 중순 이후 꽃을 피운다기에 기대하지 않았는데
그래도 혹시나 꽃이 핀 녀석이 있지 않을까 싶어서 낑낑거리고 다가가니
와우~! 괭이눈이 눈을 떴다!
노란 꽃밥은 8개, 꽃이 마치 애기괭이눈처럼 작다.
봉오리는 맛있는 떡을 싸 놓은 듯이 양쪽으로 포개어진 4개의 악편 모양이 재미 있다.
꽃밥이 8개이지만 1~2개가 부실하여 온전한 8개가 잘 안 보인다.
꽃과 잎이 얼마나 작은지 손가락과 비교하여 보았다.
잎이 마주나고 가지가 선괭이눈 처럼 줄기 기부에서 많이 갈라져 있지만 선괭이눈은 털이 없는데 가지괭이눈은 털이 있다.
어릴 적에는 다소 짧고 굵던 줄기가 개화시가 되니 가늘어졌다
근생엽은 꽃이 필 때 대개 없어진다.
잎은 대생하고 윗부분의 잎은 난상 원형 또는 원형이며 원형의 톱니가 있고 길이 5-15mm, 폭 6-15mm로서
밑부분이 넓은 예저이며 갑자기 좁아져서 엽병으로 흐른다.
포복지는 옆으로 길게 자라면서 갈라지고 편원형의 잎이 달린다
