돈대산 정상을 넘어 바쁜 하산 길에 덩굴성 관목에 노란 꽃이 바글바글한다.

어? 상동나무다! 아무리 배 출항 시간에 쫒겨도 이 녀석을 만났으니 담아야 한다.

마지막 제주도에서 시간이 빠듯하여 만날 수 있을지 없을지 확신할 수 없기 때문이다.

 

지난 5월 용수리에서 까맣게 익은 열매를 한참 따 먹었는데, 10월에 꽃이 펴서 5월에 열매가 익는 녀석이다.

 

 

꽃은 양성으로 10-11월에 피고 여러 개가 정생 또는 액생하는 길이 2-5cm 의 수상 원추화서를 이루며 화서에 갈색 털이 밀생한다.

 

 

 

 

가지 끝이 밑으로 처지며, 소지에 8줄의 능선과 갈색 잔털이 있으며 끝이 흔히 가시로 변한다
