밤새 똑똑 낙수물 소리 들리더니 아침 안개가 진하다.

동래엉겅퀴가 궁금하여 일찍 길을 나선다. 비가 심하지 않으면 어디로든지 풀밭을 헤매야 마음이 푸근하다.

안개 구름이 겉힌 들판은 이미 가을이 깊다. 구부러진 논둑길에는 몸 무거운 벼메뚜기들이 알 낳기에 바쁘다.

 

올챙이솔을 찾으려고 벼포기를 헤치는데 일주일 사이에 사라져 버렸다. 나무 늦었나 보다.

예상대로 동래엉겅퀴가 보라색 곱게 꽃을 피웠다. 하늘은 파랗고 흰구름도 떠 있고 눈자락 노랗게 벼가 익고 있는데

보라색 진한 동래엉겅퀴에 나비 떼가 잔치를 만났다.

 

매년 그리운 사람 찾듯이 이 녀석을 찾는다. 언제나 한결같이 꽃을 피우고 기다려 주는 보라색 꽃송이가 그저 감사하다.

이 녀석을 동래엉겅퀴라고들 그런다. 뭐 그러니까 동래엉겅퀴인 줄 안다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

두화는 꽃이 필 때 곧추서고 가지나 줄기끝에 1개씩 곧게 달린다. 총포는 편평한 구형이고 길이 16mm, 나비 30mm로서

밑부분이 들어가며 부분적으로 거미줄같은 털이 있고

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

포편은 6줄로 배열되며 외편은 피침형으로서 끝이 중앙까지 닿고 가장자리가 밋밋하며 끝이 뾰족하고

중편은 긴 타원상 피침형이며 뒷면에 점질이 있고 검은빛이 돌며 외편과 더불어 곧추 퍼진다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

밑부분의 잎은 긴 타원형이고 양끝이 좁으며 가시가 있고 밑으로 흐르지 않으며 길이 14-17㎝, 나비는 4-6㎝로서

털이 없고 가장자리가 우상으로 갈라지며 열편은 3-4쌍으로서 서로 떨어져 있고 가시같은 톱니가 있다.
