큰쐐기풀(쐐기풀과 혹쐐기풀속) Laportea cuspidata (Wedd.) Friis

1년 만에 산사에 들렀더니 작년에 큰쐐기풀을 담았던 자리에 큰 불사로 부속 건물이 들어서 버렸다.

맞은 편 골짝에서 이 녀석 만나지 못하였더라면 큰쐐기풀을 못 담을 뻔 했다. 

 

고운사도 그렇고 여기도 그렇고 불사로 건물을 자꾸 늘리고 있다.

아마 봉정사도 아래 신갈나무 고목이 있는 곳을 메꾸어 불사를 하려다가 민원이 빗발쳐서 중지되었다는 이야기를 들었다.

교세를 넓히고 포교를 하는 거야 누가 뭐라겠냐마는 자꾸만 건물을 중창하는 건 그리 보기 좋지만은 않다. 

 

 

 

 

 

마악 꽃이 피기 시작하는 시기라 열매를 담으려면 다시 한 번 와야겠다.

꽃은 일가화로서 4수이며 8-9월에 피고 연한 녹색이며 수상화서는 엽액에서 2개씩 돋고 그 중 1개는 짧으며 1개는 길지만 잎보다는 짧다.

원줄기 끝은 전체가 화서로 되고 갈라지며 꽃이 진 다음 안쪽 2개의 화피열 편이 열매를 둘러싸고 겉에 자모(刺毛)가 있다.

 

역시 큰 녀석은 자모도 대단하다.

이 가시털에 한 번 쏘이면 한 동안 따끔거리고 가렵고 얼얼한 통증을 견뎌야 한다.

이 침에는  개미산이 있어서 그런 통증을 유발한다고 한다.

 

 

 

표면은 짙은 녹색으로서 잔털이 있으며 뒷면은 회록색이고 맥 위에 엽병과 더불어 큰 자모(刺毛)가 있다

 

잎이 얼마나 큰지 내 손바닥으로도 다 덮히지 않을 정도이다

침에 쏘일까 봐 조심 조심. 잎은 호생하며 난형 또는 원형에 가깝다.
