미국실새삼(메꽃과 새삼속)

2010. 8. 27. 동네 한바퀴.

 

일찍 퇴근하여

어릴 적 새참 다랭이를 들고 탈래탈래 걸어 다녔던 큰 밭뙈기까지 어슬렁거리면서 가 보았다.

그 둑은 알 굵은 멍석딸기를 눈도장 찍어 두었다가 터질 듯 투명한 딸기 열매를 따 먹기도 하던 곳이다.

 

일손 바쁜 엄니 따라 가끔은 잘 여문 팥 꼬투리나 붉은 고추를 따는 일을 돕기도 했었는데...

그 밭뙈기는 이미 남의 손에 넘어갔다. 큰 동생 장가갈 때 집 사느라고 팔았던 것 같다.

하기사 아버지 안 계신 지금은 있던 논밭도 매년 도지 임대를 팔고 있는 사정이니 밭이 있은들 농작물을 경작하지도 못한다.  

 

그냥 궁금하여 밭둑길을 걷는데 실새삼이 한창 꽃을 피우고 있다.

이 녀석은 아무데나 엉겨붙는 미국실새삼이다. 새삼은 콩과 식물에만 엉긴다고 한다.
