꾸지뽕나무(뽕나무과) Cudrania tricuspidata (Carrière) Bureau ex Lavallée

5월에 파란 꽃봉오리가 맺힌 걸 보고 갔는데 이 녀석이 이렇게 꽃피는 걸 보니 신기한 일이다.

열매가 붉게 익고 먹을 만하며 이 녀석을 한약재로 많이 찾아서

도채 되는 경우가 많다고 걱정을 하더니만 해안 여기 저기서 흔하게 보이는 게 안심이 된다.

 

암수딴그루 이가화란다.

수꽃은 3-5개의 화피 열편과 4개의 수술이 있고 암꽃은 4개의 화피 열편과 2개로 갈라진 암술대가 있다. 

노란 화피 사이에 노란 수꽃 꽃밥이 보이는데 암술이 없는 듯하니 수그루인가 싶다.

수술을 선명하게 볼 수 있었으면 좋겠다만 비오는 날 이 정도로 담은 것도 다행이다. 

 

 

수피는 회갈색으로 벗겨지고 가지에 길이 0.5-3.5cm의 가지가 변형된 가시가 있으며 소지에 털이 있다.

가지에 피목이 발달되어 있고 오래된 수피는 황회색을 띠며 세로로 찢어져 떨어진다.

 

 

잎은 호생하며 2-3개로 갈라지는 것과 가장자리가 밋밋하고 난형인 것이 있다.

표면에 잔털이 있고 뒷면에는 융모가 있다. 엽병은 길이 15-25mm로서 털이 있다. 

 

잎은 모양은 생육장소가 비옥하면 감나무 잎보다 크고 결각도 적으나

바위틈이나 산비탈의 척박지에서 자라는 것은 잎이 작고 결각이 심하며 잎끝이 꼬리처럼 길게 뻗어난다.
