몽고뽕나무(뽕나무과 뽕나무속) Morus mongolica (Bureau) C. K. Schneid

석회암 지대의 산기슭, 산지 사면에서 높이 7~8m쯤 자라는 낙엽 활엽 작은큰키나무이다.

나무껍질은 회갈색이고 고르지 않게 터지며, 햇가지는 갈색이고 껍질눈은 긴 타원형이다.

 

잎은 어긋나며, 넓은 난형 또는 긴 타원형으로 밑부분은 심장 모양, 끝은 꼬리 모양으로 뾰족해지며,

가장자리는 날카로운 톱니 모양으로 톱니 끝에 3mm 정도의 바늘 같은 가시가 있다. 잎 양면에는 털이 거의 없다

 

열매는 크지 않지만 당도가 무척 높다.
