억새아재비(M. longiberbis)에 비해 줄기의 기부 잎집이 부풀어 황갈색 털이 밀생하며, 소수와 화서 중축이 또한 황갈색의 털로 덮이며, 소수기반의 털은 짧다.

 

 경기도, 경상도, 전라도 및 충청남도에 나며, 인도, 일본, 중국, 태국, 인도차이나 등에 분포한다.
