고구마(메꽃과 고구마속) Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.

가끔 고구마밭에서 미국나팔꽃처럼 보라색 작은 꽃을 피우는 녀석을 반갑게 만난다.

고구마는 7-8월에 홍자색 꽃이 피며 잎겨드랑이에서 긴 화경이 나와 그 끝에 5-6송이씩 달린다.  

 

이렇게 꽃을 많이 피워도 고구마 농사가 잘 되는지 모르겠다.
