바람 난 미국나팔꽃(메꽃과 나팔꽃속) Ipomoea hederacea Jacq.

남한강 수변으로 난 도로를 따라 가는 길은 다녀보지 않던 길이라서 

속도를 늦추고 도로변을 살피느라고 눈이 바쁘다.

 

축대 철책에 둥근잎나팔꽃이 한창이길래 잠시 차를 세우고 퍽샷을 날리는데

미국나팔꽃에 얼룩이 진 녀석이 눈에 들어 온다

 

미국나팔꽃은 꽃이 작고 꽃받침 갈래가 선형으로 가늘고 뒤로 젖혀져 있고 긴털이 많다

헌데 이렇게 푸른 꽃 바탕에 은은한 분홍색 무늬가 염색되었다.

 

 

 

헌데 더 이상한 건

 

나팔꽃 꽃받침에 나팔꽃 잎을 가진 녀석이 

미국나팔꽃 처럼 작고 푸른 꽃을 피우고 있다는 것이다.

 

이 녀석의 꽃받침은 뒤로 젖혀지지 않고 털도 없는 나팔꽃 꽃받침이다.

 

 

 

미국나팔꽃은 잎의 크기가 매우 작다.

그런데 이 녀석은 나팔꽃 잎처럼 크고 얕게 갈라진 잎을 가지고 있다.

미국나팔꽃과 나팔꽃이 눈이 맞아서 교잡이 일어난 게 분명하다.

 

 

꽃이 피지 않으면 잎과 꽃받침만으로 그냥 나팔꽃이라 하겠다

보통 미국나팔꽃 잎은 이렇게  깊게 갈라지거나 둥근잎을 가지고 있고

잎 크기도 작다.

 

이 곳 철책에는 둥근잎나팔꽃이 이렇게 울타리를 장식하고 있는데

 

또 이상한 점은 옆에 사는 녀석이 나팔꽃이 아닌 둥근잎나팔꽃이라는 것이다

둥근잎나팔꽃 꽃받침은 나팔꽃과 달리 이렇게 넓어서 선형인 나팔꽃과 다르다.

 

 

거 참. 

이 녀석은 함께 살고 있는 넓은 열편의 둥근잎나팔꽃 꽃받침도 아니고

선형인 나팔꽃 꽃받침을 가지고 있으니...더 이상타~! 

나팔꽃 잎에 미국나팔꽃 꽃을 피우는 꽃이 달리다니..............

 

식물의 세계도 정상이 아닌 것 같다.
