눈양지꽃은 한국에서도 강원도 석호주변에 자생하는 염습지의 해안식물이다.
몽골에도 초원이나 습한 초지에 염습지식물이 많이 자라고 있었는데
갯봄맞이, 갯활량나물속, 취명아주, 눈양지꽃 같은 녀석들이 바로 그 주인공들이다.
몽골의 산지에서 채굴되는 암염과 몇 곳의 염호로 미루어 이곳에서 갯가 식물이나 염습지 식물이 발견되는 게 크게 이상할 일도 아니다.
바닷 속에 있던 땅이 대륙의 지각변동으로 융기된 지형이 분명하리라.
