몇년만에 금강봄맞이를 만나러 설악의 계곡을 올랐다.
계곡을 건너는 옆에 황철나무가 여전하게 서 있는데 몇 년 사이에 많이도 컸다.
황철나무는 어린 가지에 털이 있고 표면이 쭈글거리지 않는다고 하는데
물황철나무는 잎 표면의 쭈글거림이 많고 어린가지에 털이 없으며 잎 뒷면 맥위에 털이 있다고 한다.
오대산의 녀석들은 잎 표면에 쭈글거림이 많은 물황철나무가 많이 보이는데
이 곳의 녀석은 잎 표면이 편평하고 광택이 보이는 황철나무였다.
