산지의 골짜기, 습한 풀숲에 자라는 여러해살이풀로 키는 1m쯤 된다.

 

 

 

작은산형꽃차례는 10~30개이고

 

 

 

 잎은 2~3회 깃꼴겹잎이고 작은잎은 긴 난형, 피침형이며 가장자리에 딱딱한 톱니가 있다

 

잎자루는 길며 잎집이 원줄기를 감싼다
