이번 제주식물 탐사 여행에서는 왕갯쑥부장이와 함께 이 녀석도 포함되어 있었다.
이 곳은 탐방 신청을 받아서 해설사 인솔하에 방문할 수 있는 곳이라 뱅기표를 지르면서 바로 탐방 예약을 해두었다
2015년 봄에 이 녀석 꽃을 보긴 했지만 가을의 모습은 어떨까 궁금했기 때문이다.
단체로 움직여야 하며 테크에서 한 발짝도 벗어나지 못하게 하기 때문에 일행을 따라 두 시간 반의 시간을 투지하여 이 녀석을 만났다.
처음 몇 포기를 보이던 녀석을은 기린초 어린 녀석인 줄 알고 그냥 지나쳐 버렸는데
이상타 하여 이어 나타나는 이 녀석을 자세하게 들여다 보다가 아이쿠야 ! 했다.
잎이 얼마나 커졌는지 100원짜리 동전만 하여 금방 알아보지 못하고 하마터면 자생 장소를 그냥 지나칠 뻔 하였다.
봄의 모습과 많이 다르고 꽃이 없는 시기에 이 녀석을 봐야 해서 두 시간 반의 시간동안 헛수고를 할 뻔 하였다.
자생지가 제한적이고 개체수가 많지 않으니 씨앗 많이 퍼뜨리고 잘 자라야겠다.
일행과 떨어지지 않으려고 급하게 담다 보니 이렇게 흔들린다.

잎이 주걱처럼 생겼고 잎 끝이 살짝 함몰되어 있는 점이 다른 비름속과 차이점이다
