비쭈기나무(차나무과 비쭈기나무속) 열매 Cleyera japonica Thunb.

고부라진 동아의 모습이 새의 부리처럼 보이는데 가늘고 길다란 모양으로 비쭉하다 해서 비쭈기 나무라고 부른다.

이렇게 식물의 형태적 특성으로 이름을 부르면 기억하기도 좋을텐데

발견 지역의 장소로 이름을 붙이다가 그 서식처가 여기 저기서 나타나게 되어

지명을 딴 이름이 무색하게 되는 경우가 있는데 미기록종이나 신종 이름을 지을 때는 이런 좀 참고가 되었으면 좋겠다.
