가시엉겅퀴(국화과)

중산간 지역이라 그런가? 아직도 가시엉겅퀴가 곱게 피어 있다.

 

제주의 들판이나 저지대에는 가시엉겅퀴가 많이 서식을 하고 오름이나 중산간 지역 이상에는 바늘엉겅퀴가 많이 보인다.

두 녀석 모두 억센 가시가 대단하여 조금만 가까이 접근을 해도 사납게 할퀸다.

가시엉겅퀴의 개화가 빠른데 바늘엉겅퀴는 개화가 9월이 되어야 개화를 하여 아직 꽃봉오리도 보이지 않았다.
