사방오리(자작나무과)

어릴 적 마을 주변의 산에는 나무가 거의 없이 민둥 벌거숭이였다.

땔감으로 나무를 사용할 때였으니 그 땔감이란 게 산에 있는 나무들을 베어 쓸 수 밖에 없었을 것이기 때문이다.

그 벌거숭이 산의 사방 사업으로 심은 식재종이라 사방오리라는 이름을 붙였다고 알고 있다.

 

이 녀석보다 잎맥이 더 많은 좀사방오리란 녀석도 있다.

기냥  사방오리는 잎맥이 측맥은 13-17쌍이고, 좀사방오리는 20~28쌍이란다.
