편백(측백나무과 편백) Chamaecyparis obtusa (Siebold & Zucc.) Endl.

 비 뿌리는 여름 편백 숲은 향기로웠다.

우리 나라에는 삼나무와 같이 1904년에 도입되어 난대 지방과 온대 남부지방에 식재되고 있다.

일본에서는 나무가 단단하여 옛부터 불을 일으키는 나무로 알려지고 있다. 재질이 좋고 남부지방에서는 좋은 조림수종이다.
