참으아리(미나리아재비과 으아리속) Clematis terniflora DC.

제주 시가지 쪽보다 더 따뜻한 서귀포라서 초본류들이 늦게 까지 꽃을 피우고 있다.

참으아리는 열매의 암술대 털도 아직 펴지 않고 4장의 하얀 꽃받침을 아직도 펼치고 짧은 햇살바라기를 한다.

늦은 가을 쯤 이 곳 해안에는 덩굴모밀도 한창이다.

덩굴모밀은 이 곳에만 자생하는 녀석이라 지난 해 이 곳에서 처음 만났을 때 참 반갑고 신기해 했던 기억이 있다.

 

으아리네 식구들도 몇 종이 되는데 꽃받침의 수와 열매의 암술대 모양에 따라 이름 붙여져서

그 구분점을 잘 기억해 둬야 제대로 이름 불러 줄 수가 있다.

 

참으아리 : 꽃받침이 4개, 잎 끝이 뾰족하지 않고 둥그스름 한 것. 열매 잔털이 있고 깃털을 가진 긴 암술대가 있음
으아리 : 꽃받침잎이 4~5개이고 잎 끝이 뾰족 한 것. 열매에 백색 털이 있는 길이 2cm 정도의 꼬리같은 암술대가 있음
조령으아리 : 꽃받침이 6개인 것. 열매가 납작하고 날개 있으며 짧은 암술대가 돌기처럼 나 있음

외대으아리 : 꽃받침이 4~5장인 것. 열매에 털이 없고, 날개 있으며 짧은 암술대가 돌기처럼 달려 있음

대구으아리 : 꽃받침잎이 4~6개인 것, 납작한 열매에 3cm정도의 암술대에 흰털이 있음
