버들잎엉겅퀴(국화과) Cirsium lineare (Thunb.) Sch.Bip.

드뎌 버들잎엉겅퀴의 실체를 확인하였다.

내 사는 곳 가까운 곳에 동래엉겅퀴가 살고 있는데 녀석들 중에 유독 잎이 결각지지 않고

이 버들잎처럼 매끈한 피침형잎을 가진 녀석이 있었다.

 

버들잎엉겅퀴의 실체를 접하기 전이라 그 녀석이 혹시 버들잎엉겅퀴가 아닐까하여 유심히 들여다 본 적이 있는데

이제 보니 그 녀석과 버들잎엉겅퀴는 전혀 다른 모습이었다.

 

 

 

버들잎엉겅퀴의 총포 포편은 끝이 둔하고 부드러웠다.

기재문을 보면 포편 끝에 짧은 가시가 있다고 하는데 관찰 결과 가시가 없는 것을 확인하였다.

 

 

 총포는 지름 15~20mm이고 총포편은 6~7줄로 비늘같이 배열되며 외포편이 가장 짧고 점차 길어지며

끝에 짧은 가시가 있고 뒷면에 점질과 더불어 거미줄같은 털이 있다.

 

 

 

 

 

줄기 위쪽의 잎은 이렇게 가느다란 선형이었다.

원줄기를 감싸지도 않으며 밑으로 흐르지도 않고 표면에 털이 없으며 뒷면에 거미줄같은 털이 있고

가장자리가 거의 밋밋하며 길이 1-2mm의 가시가 있다.

 

 

버들잎 엉겅퀴는 잎이 부드럽고 거치도 자잘하고 끝의 가시도 그리 빳빳하지 않고 주맥의 흰색인데

버들잎일까 하여 궁거웠던 동래엉겅퀴의 특이한 녀석은 잎이 혁질로 뻣뻣하고 거치가 거칠고 가시도 억센 녀석이었다.

 

근생엽은 꽃이 필 때 없어지며 중앙부의 잎은 선형이고 끝이 길게 뾰족해지며 길이 6~20cm, 폭 5~10mm로서

밑부분이 좁아져서 짧은 엽병으로 되거나 엽병이 거의 없다.

 

원줄기를 감싸지도 않으며 밑으로 흐르지도 않고 표면에 털이 없으며 뒷면에 거미줄같은 털이 있고

가장자리가 거의 밋밋하며 길이 1-2mm의 가시가 있다.

 

 

근생엽의 톱니 가시는 엽연에 수직으로 나 있다.

 

 

어린 신초의 근생엽이다. 실제 신초의 잎이 손바닥 정도로 넓은 것도 있다고 한다.
