피나물(양귀비과 피나물속) Hylomecon vernalis Maxim.

물도랑가 볕살 고운 곳에 피나물이 노랗게 피었다. 중부지방의 산지나 북부지방의 산간지역 그늘진 습한 곳에서 잘 자란다.

이 녀석과 거의 흡사한 매미꽃은 피나물보다 늦게 개화하여 일년 내내 꽃이 피는데 뿌리에서 바로 꽃대가 올라 오는 점이 다르다.
