회향(산형과 회향속) Foeniculum vulgare Mill.

언제부터인가? 회향이 마당이며 집 주변에서 해마다 돋아나 자잘한 꽃을 피워주고 있다.

아마 첫부임지 학교에서 회향 씨앗이 묻어 오지 않았나 싶다. 냄새가 독특하지만 향이 싫지는 않다.

출근하면서 노랗게 자잘한 꽃을 피우는 회향을 문지르고 나면 차 안이 향긋하다.

꽃은 7-8월에 황색으로 피고 원줄기 끝과 가지 끝에서 큰 복산형화서가 발달하며

총산경은 10-20개의 소산경으로 갈라지고 총포와 소총포가 없으며

꽃잎은 5개로서 안으로 굽고 화관(花冠)은 소형이다.

 

 

  

 

  

한약재로 재배하기도 하는 회향은 독특한 향기가 강하며 전초는 뿌연 분백색을 띠고 있다.

근생엽은 엽병이 길지만 위로 갈수록 짧아지며 엽병 밑부분이 넓어져서 엽초로 되고

경생엽은 3-4회 우상으로 갈라지며 열편은 선형이다.
