수원잔대와 당잔대 (초롱꽃과 잔대속) Adenophora polyantha Nakai

여태 잔대속 녀석들에 대하여 자세하게 살펴보기를 외면하여 왔다.

잎 변이가 심하여 구분이 모호하기도 하고 자료를 찾아보는 게 귀찮기도 하고 특별한 자료도 없기 때문이기도 하다.

 

오래 전 이 곳의 녀석을 다들 당잔대라 불렀더랬다

헌데 이 녀석은 수원잔대이다.

 

속 식물지에 기록된 잔대속 검색표 일부이다.

 

당잔대 Adenophora stricta 는 잎에 털이 산생하거나 밀생하고 총상화서로 악통에도 털이 있는 점이 특징이고

수원잔대 Adenophora polyantha 는 잎이 무모이고 총상화서로 화주(암술끝)가 화관 밖으로 돌출한다.

 

인터넷에 당잔대라고 올려진 사진을 보면 잎의 모양으로 당잔대라고 한다고 하면서

당잔대 잎과 악통의 털의 특징을 확인하지 않은 대부분 수원잔대이다.

두 종의 구분에 잎의 너비는 변이 폭이 커서 큰 의미가 없다고 봐야 한다. 

 

<당> 이란 접두어가 붙는 분류군들이 꽤 있다.

당마가목, 당느릅나무, 당조팝나무.....

 

위에 예를 든 분류군들의 특징은 잎, 겨울눈, 꽃자루, 열매 어린가지 등,

부위는 다르지만 모두 털이 있는 특징을 가지고 있다.

당잔대도 마찬가지로 악통(꽃받침통), 잎에 털이 있는 녀석이라 일반 잔대속 분류군과 구분이 된다.

 

상주 활공장의 녀석은 수원잔대로 

잎의 형태는 다양하지만 악통과 잎에 털이 없고 화주가 화관 밖으로 돌출한다.

 

한반도생물 다양성 포털에 기록된 수원잔대는 개화 시 악편이 뒤로 말린다는 기준에도 부합된다.

악편이 말리는 게 이 녀석만은 아닐 거지만.
