강원도 덕우산에서 처음 발견이 되어 이름을 얻었다.
강원도 석회암 산지에 주로 많이 분포하는데 경북 지역에서도 몇 군데서 본 적이 있다.
잎이 3회 3출엽이라 매우 크고 풍성하다. 줄기도 1m 이상 자라서 전초를 담기가 쉽지 않다.
