대황(마디풀과 대황속) 어린 싹 Rheum rhabarbarum L.

2015. 7. 30. 몽골 태를지국립공원.

 

 

2015년 몽골 초원의 식물에 반하여 퇴직 후 2020년에 다시 가려고 계획이 다 되어 있었는데

코로나가 퍼지는 바람에 해를 미루다가 결국 포기를 해야할 것 같다. 

 

몽골 식물 탐사하면서 흡수굴과 테를지 국립공원을 집중적으로 탐사하였는데

광활한 초원과 웅장한 경관이 아주 빼어나고 지천으로 흐드러져 있는 식물에

어디에 카메라를 들이대어야 할지 정신이 없을 정도였다

 

대황은 뿌리를 한약재로 사용한다.

국내에서도 더러 약용으로 재배를 하기도 하는 것 같다. 

몽골 가기 전 우연하게 한 포기를 만나서 촬영한 적이 있는데 그 이후에는 본 적이 없다.

 

이름 모를 식물들을 많이 만나 난감하기는 했지만

귀하게 알고 있던 종들이 흔하게 보일 때는 환호가 절로 터져 나왔는데 대황도 그 중 한 녀석이었다.
