댐 호수변에서 볼 수가 있다.
꽃은 5~8월에 잎겨드랑이에 3~6개씩 붉은빛이 도는 흰색으로 모여 핀다.
꽃자루 중간 부위에 관절이 있다.
화피는 중간까지 5개로 갈라지며 수술은 5개이고, 암술머리는 2~3개로 갈라진다.
