물고추나물(물레나물과)

제주에서 지난 해 여러 차례 이 녀석 꽃을 보려고 했지만

오후 늦게서야 꽃을 피우는 생태를 모르고 오전에 습지를 찾아서 왜 꽃을 안 피우냐고 타박만 했었다.

지금 쯤 제주의 물통이에도 한창 꽃을 피우고 있을 터인데 경남의 물통이에서 고운 모습을 담아 보았다.

 

 

꽃잎은 붉은색이고 좁은 도란형이며 길이 6~7mm이다. 9개의 수술은 3뭉치이고 그 사이에 1개씩의 선체가 있으며

꽃밥 끝에 사마귀 같은 돌기가 있다. 암술대는 3갈래이다.

 

잎은 대생하고 엽병이 없으며 긴 타원형 또는 타원상 피침형이고 길이 4~8cm, 폭 1~2.5cm로서

양끝이 둔하거나 둥글며 투명한 점이 있고 잎가에도 투명한 점이 있다.

 

열매는 삭과로 난형이고 끝이 뾰족하며 투명한 맥이 있고 길이 8~10mm로서 많은 종자가 들어 있다.

  

꽃은 8-9월에 피고 지름 1cm로서 연한 홍색이며 윗부분에서 액생한 취산화서에 1~3송이씩 달리고 화경이 짧으며 소화경은 극히 짧다. 꽃받침잎은 긴 타원형이고 적갈색이며 길이 3~4mm이다.
