갯방풍(산형과 갯방풍속)

해안 모래밭에 사는 녀석들은 하나같이 바닥에 따악 붙어 있다.

언젠가 뿌리가 얼마나 깊이 있나 싶어서 파 본 적이 있는데 얼마나 깊게 들어 가 있던지 30cm이상 파도 뿌리 구경을 못하였다.

 

흔히들 갯기름나물과 갯방풍 이름을 혼돈하는 경우가 있는데 전혀 다른 녀석이지만

같은 산형과이고 <갯> 자가 붙는 바람에 바꾸어 부르는 경우가 있다.

 

갯기름나물은 해안 풀밭에 서식하며 키가 1m 까지 크지만 갯방풍은 털이 많고 줄기가 위로 자라지 않고

잎은 바닥에 방석처럼 펼치며 꽃대만 약간 위로 올라오는 정도이다
