방아풀(꿀풀과)

산박하 오리방풀에 이어 방아풀이 개화를 시작하였다.

세 녀석은 꽃모양이 비슷하여 꽃동무들이 헷갈려들 하는 녀석이다. 방아풀은 세 녀석들 중에 가장 꽃이 잘다.

 

간혹 배초향을 방아풀로 잘못 올려진 것을 볼 수 있다. 향이 강한 배초향을 이곳에서는 <방아> 라 하여

비린 냄새를 없애기 위해서 추어탕이나 매운탕에 넣는 경우가 있는데 그 방아와 방아풀은 다른 녀석이다.

 

방아풀 : 수술과 암술이 화관밖으로 튀어나온다. 잎에 풀거북꼬리처럼 결각이 없는 꼬리가 빠져 있다.
산박하 : 수술과 암술이 화관밖으로 튀어나오지 않는다. 잎이 깨잎처럼 생겼다.
오리방풀 : 수술과 암술이 화관밖으로 튀어나오지 않는다. 잎이 약간 타원형으로 풀거북꼬리 잎처럼 꼬리가 있다.

 

  

9월부터 10월에 걸쳐 줄기 끝이나 위쪽의 잎겨드랑이에 큰 원추꽃차례를 내며

작고 많은 엷은 보라색의 입술 모양의 꽃이 드물게 핀다.

 

윗입술은 4갈래로 갈라지며 보라색 점이 있고, 아랫입술은 배 모양으로 돌출한다.

꽃받침은 5갈래로 갈라진다. 수술은 4개로 2개는 길며 꽃밖으로 나온다. 암술은 1개이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

줄기는 사각형으로 곧으며 높이는 약 1 미터이다. 아래로 향한 털이 빽빽이 나 있다.

잎은 마주나며 넓은달걀 모양으로 길이 5~10 센티미터 정도이고, 가장자리에 톱니가 있으며 엽신이 자루로 이어진다
