장수만리화(물푸레나무과)

장수만리화라고 이름이 붙어 있다.

꽃은 영락 없는 개나리를 닮았는데 암술 주두가 3개로 갈라져 있고 수술도 3개다.

 

꽃은 4월에 피며 많이 달리며

 

길이 6mm의 소화경이 있고 꽃받침 열편은 넓은 난형이며 밝은 황색이고 열편은 긴 타원형이다.

 

 가지는 회색 또는 암회색이고 피목이 산재한다.

 

만리화와 달리 소지 기부에 융모가 있으며

 

잎은 대생하며 넓은 난형이고 급한 점첨두이며 예저 또는 아심장저이고 양면에 털이 없으며

표면은 짙은 녹색이고 뒷면은 회록색이며 가장자리에 잔톱니가 있거나 거의 없고 엽병은 길이 8-12mm이다.

만리화와 달리 잎에 윤채가 없다.어떤 종이든 어린 잎은 보소소한 털이 있기 마련이다.
