병풍쌈은 깊은 산 숲속에서 높이 1~2m 정도로 자라는 여러해살이풀이다.

근연종 어리병풍에 비하여 전초가 크고 소화 수가 더 많다.

 

병풍쌈은 전국적으로 분포하는 데 비하여 어리병풍은 충북 속리산, 경북 주흘산, 전북 내장산, 덕유산, 민주지산, 전남 담양, 백운산, 지리산, 경남 지리산, 산청, 하동, 함양 등에 분포하는 한국 고유종이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

꽃받 총포조각은 5개, 소화 수 는 9-11개로 두상꽃차례를 만든다.
